Sabrina Khandai (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario, Canada. Sabrina earned a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counselling from Niagara University, and completed an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto. Sabrina is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with the International Association of Trauma Professionals. Sabrina is also Certified in PEERS Social Skills for Young Adults through the UCLA Semel Institute. Sabrina greatly values being able to allow the individuals and families she supports a space to be heard and validated. Sabrina is known for her warm demeanour, comforting presence and person centred approach, which she uses to promote therapeutic change and emotional healing.

Sabrina currently works for a youth and young adult mental health agency in Toronto, Ontario, providing ongoing therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Additionally, Sabrina also supports youth, adults and families within her private practice in the Greater Toronto Area. Sabrina utilizes an eclectic, inclusive, culturally-sensitive and trauma-informed approach when working with individuals and families. Sabrina typically supports individuals and families with mood disorders, emotional challenges, trauma, grief and loss, neurodivergence, self-harming behaviours, suicidality, family and caregiver challenges, and interpersonal challenges. Additionally, Sabrina supports caregivers of individuals who live with mental health challenges. Sabrina has previous experience providing crisis counselling and risk assessments through her work as a single-session crisis counsellor, and through previous volunteer work on a local crisis support line.

When Sabrina is not directly supporting individuals and families, she contributes and advocates for mental health by delivering workshops and presentations within the Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Area, which focus on mental health education and ways to cope with various mental health challenges. When Sabrina is not supporting others, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones, painting, crafting and hiking!
